Stefan Szczesny produced ‘Couple with coconut’ in 1997. In Szczesny’s oeuvre, linocuts are generally rare and date from earlier periods. The technique brings out new aspects in Szczesny’s typical imagery. Vigorous, insouciant brushstrokes are here replaced by slightly angular forms. The linocut shows a couple with a coconut, invoking a Caribbean ambiance.
