This catalogue was produced on the occasion of a comprehensive exhibitionof Szczesny’s works on paper, held at Kunstverein Mannheim in 1990. Containing an introduction by the art historian Friedrich Kasten, thecatalogue shows a representative selection of works on paper from 1969 to1989. The catalogue provides particularly instructive insights in that itdocuments Szczesny’s – otherwise rarely seen – early years. In this way, it allows to retrace, step by step, how Stefan Szczesny came to adopt hisparticular artistic style.
