SZCZESNY – NUDE IN JERICHO GARDEN (PAPER)

Description

This screen print forms part of a series of large-format prints which Stefan Szczesny produced in 1999, in collaboration with the renowned Jaffa/Israel-based printer Har-El. These prints remain unique in Szczesny’s print oeuvre: in their imposing dimensions, they bring out particularly well the vividness and intensity of Szczesny’s colours and brushstrokes. ‘Nude in Jericho Garden’ echoes Stefan Szczesny’s series of paintings entitled ‘Streifenbilder’ (striped paintings). Floral elements and insouciant patches of colour frame a female nude. Themes of vitality and joie de vivre are central.
